The powerful vampires aren't really contained, because powerful people never have to follow the rules.Full disclosure, listened to this on audiobook, as I do more and more these days. The only problem is, once you pass through Coldtown's gates, you can never leave.It is something new set in the same place/canon and not too long after the short story's time setting. The Coldest Girl in Coldtown was a refreshing read as it is the polar opposite of Twilight. This book has a true beginning, middle, end. I loved Black's exquisite writing and excellent characterisation, which gave the story a feel of both modern and gothic decadence and decline.
