I have been huge fan of "The Mysterious Island" since I was probably 10 or 12, and when I found out this book was a prequel to "The Mysterious Island" I thought "why have I never heard of this book??!!". However, it is also quite racist.

But I always appreciate how much he knew of geography and science in the mid-19th century to be able to write these.One of my favorite Verne's books. I thought it was a bit wordy but that seems to be the norm for 19th century writing.
This was a new book to me and I love it with a book immediately starts out with a great people, objects and an incredible mission. The pluses are that the characters aren't bad and that it is at some points an exciting story. I don't think most people would regret reading this book, but I'm definitely not going to ever read it again.The end of the journey for this third volume, and a third country, since after having overcome the dangers of the Andes, betrayal in Australia, the dispossessed companions of the Duncan and his loyal crew, continue their search for Captain Grant in New Zealand.
