Keep track of everything you watch; tell your friends. Was this review helpful? Being an independent contractor is one thing, working for a big company is another. I can't see why people are downing this movie because it doesn't really fit in a genre like Action or Comedy. Beneath Clouds...a classic movie, perhaps Australia's greatest. A personal journey is also presented: beautiful, intimate and detailed. One thing they do have in common, however, is their stoicism.
This summer night paths will cross and all their lives will be changed forever. It may sound as if I don't like this film but I do.
Reed's performance here is impressive too.
She starts walking and is joined by Vaughn.
A slippery snow setting makes this tough to get the best results out of a simple little basic chase film that carelessly becomes your simple little basic "Save me!" The boy is heading towards a future of problems and she is on her way to hope. While other good ol' boys movies of this era were packed with action, there is very little action here, and what little there is happens to be choreographed and directed in a manner that's more often than not slow and sluggish. Considering that Tykwer is one of my favourite directors I guess this was the only aspect of the film that disappointed me (there's nothing wrong with either mimicking or coincidentally sharing stylistic aspects, it's just that I couldn't stop thinking 'this is a Tykwer film' when watching it). 1 out of 5 found this helpful. Was this review helpful? Hancock is a superhero whose ill-considered behavior regularly causes damage in the millions. Iron Duke (Jerry Reed), and Pickup (Helen Shaver) are two of the independents worried about the situation as well as being pressured to sell by the ruthless trucking boss King Carroll.
Overall, I enjoyed this dumb movie and so will others if you're a fan fo hixploitation/rednexploitation type of films (think good ol' boys fighting one another ALA "Gator" or "Walking Tall"), even if it's pretty routine and nothing all that memorable.
Fonda is Rane, an old trucking buddy come to visit for a spell and ends up helping Duke take on the hijackers.
What this film does leave me with is a sense of two real, marginalised, teenagers trying to make sense of their place in the world and willing to undertake what journeys are necessary to find those places. All your service and repair needs are done by ASE certified automotive master technicians at Just Cruisin' Inc. Our goal is to make you comfortable while maintaining your vehicle. For some reason though, there is that aforementioned dark tone that somehow squeezes out any ounce of humanity and replaces it with an ominous aura that lays itself out on the characters and the landscape. Reed plays Duke, an independent trucker who just happens to be next on the list of a bunch of local truck hijackers. Directed by Robert Caruso.
Well, there are some funny moments.

Lena doesn't hesitate to call Vaughn a "' loser" and tells him he'll end up "like the rest of 'em" until he tells her that this is his only chance to visit his sick mom. Peter Fonda and Jerry Reed make a great team in this well-made Canadian-filmed action flick, which is very much of it's era. The two main characters are different in many ways, allowing the film to explore issues of gender, race, and poverty through the lens of their experiences. 2 out of 2 found this helpful.
With Devin Begley, Dolle-Girl, Joe Rudy Guerrero Jr., Abey Guerrero. This movie deals with socio-economic struggles, racial discrimination, sexist behaviour, and themes of violence and abuse, but at its core, Beneath Clouds is a story of longing to escape the conditions we are born into, and to search for meaning, connection, and a feeling of belonging. Why all the great reviews baffles me.
